Fish Hatchery

 

A fish hatchery is a place were large numbers of fish are spawned. These fish can be spawned normally or artificially, Artificial Spawning is the normal method because this is controlled and can be spawned at a certain time, a certain day so the fish hatchery has complete control over the cycle. There are different sorts of fish hatchery, there are

Total Recirculation Hatchery Systems. These systems re use water by purifying the water through filters. The water is then sent back to the fish tanks like your own blood stream.

Part Recirculation Hatchery Systems This is the same as above the only difference is that alot more water is sent to drain than recycled, this method is predominatly used in Nitrite sensitive fish.

Flow through hatchery systems. These are very simple to design and build the only draw back with these hatchery systems is that you need a very good water source as well as the water source being sustainable. These hatchery systems are used for trout and salmon and are very successful.
